A Early 19th Century pink gold ciseled brooch framed with grey pearls and set with a large central oval carnelian intaglio. Apollo made immortal by Temi. The young god after being anointed by the nymphs in the waters of the Ocean is made immortal by Temi, who feeds him with nectar and ambrosia. An identical scene is reproduced in the collection of Gems of Prince S. Poniatowski (1830-1833), n°I-235, from an amethyst originally incised by Allion.
