NERO CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG GER P M TR P IMP P P Laureate head of Nero to right, wearing aegis on his left shoulder. Rv. Nero, bareheaded, wearing cuirass and short tunic, on horse prancing right, carrying spear in rest in right hand; to left, a soldier also on horseback, carrying vexillum in right hand sloped over shoulder; DECVRSIO in exergue, S C across upper field. RIC 170; BMC 143. A wonderful piece, perfectly centred on a broad flan with as attractive golden riverine patina. Extremely fine.
