A Late Renaissanace gold and black enamel ring set with a garnet., Late 16th - Early 17th century

Stone 6 x 7 mm; gr 4,28; US 6,5

With a thin rounded ciseled enamel hoop, broadering to the shoulders and surmounted by a sqaured high box setting with ciseled enameled decoration. The bezel contains an ungraved tablet cut hessonite garnet. Metal distortions, enamel missing and wear marks. Possibly Eastern Europe.
